A History of The Creator's Group

During a meeting with the creators and council, an offhanded comment by dc caught my attention and I ran with it. He really hadn't meant it I don't think but I ran with it and we two got it started, recruited gojud who started the yahoo group up, from there we went on a recruiting campaign. We came together to give ourselves a voice with council who saw our problems as nothing more than a few creators being loud about something and not as a universal problem many many many of us were trying to deal with. We felt that if we were united and we had an elected group of fellow creators that could speak on our behalf to council that we would have a much better chance of being heard and our concerns would be taken seriously.
We worked on getting creators first, after we got a few we started trying to work up a charter, at that time there wasn't a leader since no one wanted that responsibility I did what I had to and stepped up and gave it direction, making sure the issues we had to deal with werent about names for the group, they were about being heard by council. Then I started the club in CT so we could teach and share ideas to people because it was sorely lacking, trying to fill a place that needed filling. At the time we didn't have any contest plans or group project ideas other than to turn people on to creating and getting our needs heard by council.
Then of course, dc decided to leave ct and move on to other places. Go left due to personal reasons which leaves me as the only founder still currently active and promoting Ct's creators and doing what I can to teach more people how to do what we do. So far we have managed to get quite a few people started from scratch and have been going strong for very nearly a year!

The Creators Group have a Board that consists of sylphie, coffinpest, Loves_Wolves, anakin-, and SCG (SweetCountryGirl). Funds are handled by coffinpest and Emmysky.

We are still in the process of building this site - and it is supposed to be a continuous work-in-progress - so if you are looking for information or have ideas about what we should add, please feel free to post a new Thread on the What else do we need here page.

Nice to see some of you still at this vrml thing after all this time! =D

I visired CT after a few years and was suprised to see that not much has really changed, at least visually. Was maybe hoping to see an old freind or two but it was like a ghost town. lol
