Spaz3D RIP :( When I upgraded last year to 32bit VISTA, even compatibility mode couldn't get me full function from Spaz3D. I despised Flux. At present VRML is just too unwieldy for my system. Maybe there a WYSIWYG client which works similar to Spaz3D (which took some time to master) and works with the VISTAS.

Baseball in Heaven

Two old friends, Sam and Bob, are baseball fanatics. They live and breathe baseball, they attend 60 games a year, the local bartender calls them to answer disputes regarding statistics, they have attended every World Series game since 1960. They are getting older and one day, Sam says to Bob. "If you die before I do, will you let me know, if they play baseball in Heaven. I'll do the same for you if I die before you do." Bob agrees.
Two days later Bob passes away in his sleep.
Sam comes home from the funeral and lays down for a nap, he's really tired. He drifts in and out of sleep. Suddenly, there's a heavenly voice saying "Sam! Sam!"
Sam is startled awake and asks, "Is that you, Bob?"
Bob answers, "Yes, Sam it's me."
Sam asks, "So, tell me Bob, do they play baseball in heaven?"
Bob replies "Sam, I've got good news and bad news, what do want to hear first."
"The good news first, Bob." Sam says.
Bob replies with "Okay, Sam, the good news is they play baseball in heaven, and the bad news is that you're starting the game tomorrow evening."

Doesn't sound like such bad news to me... He loves baseball, he's old and tired and he's missing his best friend. So now he knows he's got a real good time to look forward to ;)

No CT access, no replies from IVN

Is anyone else having problems contacting IVN (billing, especially) lately? Vialle has always been really quick to reply to emails, in my experience, but I paid my subscription fee on the 17th and still have no access, and get no answers from IVN when I email them. I'm a bit reluctant to have to call them from the other side of the planet... (not to mention figuring out how late in my day I should call for them to even be awake...) Anyone have any clue as to the delay?

Reptile 2.0 is still free (the newer versions are not, however). I'll add the link to the page. I can't find the Texture Processor on the other page you provided, however. Has it been removed or did I just not look in the right place? :)

You should see it now - as a new member you hadn't been given the rights of a writer yet, that was all. The button's at the top of the page, to the left and has a red line around it. I'm sure you'll find it now you're a writer. :)

I just wanted to share this with all of you. My previous employment was temporary and ended at the end of february but today I have accepted another job offer! Yay! It means moving and all that, and it won't start until mid-may, but I hope that until then I will have time to do some VRML :) Now if I could only get my CT access back ... but I will, in time. If nothing else, I'll change my ISP when I move (see "is it just me?" thread if you have no clue what I'm on about)
HUGS all around 'cause I'm in a good mood! :) /FV

Update: I am moving monday/tuesday this coming week (5-6 may) and will be packing my computer tomorrow (sunday). My isp says it takes 8 days to move the internet connection after a new phone number has been set up, so I won't have access (*sob*) until around the 14th or so. On the 15th my new job starts, but that's a thursday so the weekend's near and I hope to be around for the CG meeting on May 17th.
That said, of course you can still leave me messages or inboxes, but now you know why I won't reply for a while :) /FV

...I have some thoughts though... 1) How will we "draw" the numbers? Maybe one person should be responsible for drawing numbers and notifying those who wish to participate? If there's one draw a month for example, that should be doable? Or done during CG meetings (once a week). 2) Perhaps it should be store + theme, rather than actual item ideas. For instance houseplants are unlikely to end up anywhere but the garden store anyway, unless the plant is just a minor part of the item... 3) This could be a good way to promote the making of items for the less "popular" stores. Perhaps one should have only 10 (for example) stores to choose from at any one time, and although they'll change somewhat the most crowded stores would be left out?
3 cents from FV :)

Push yourself to trying new things
Remember there’s more the one way to making an object
Find a technique that’s good for you
And one last thing
Practice, Practice, Practice
Remember don’t be afraid to ask for help or to ask questions, I have never found a Creator yet that would not love to help.

If you are trying to edit your own wrl, you don't need to worry about getting gzip. Just have Spazz or Flux export the wrl uncompressed, then Notepad will open it fine.
